My Story
Astrid Merkt is a highly experienced Holistic Performance Psychologist and Breath Specialist who empowers high-achievers to reach their peak performance, even under pressure. With over 15 years of experience, Astrid integrates a mind-body approach that blends breathwork, mobility, and cognitive reframing to help individuals manage stress, anxiety, burnout, and more.
Astrid’s approach extends beyond traditional therapy, combining modern virtual therapy with dynamic methods like her “Walk and Talk”sessions, which incorporate movement and conversation. She believes in the power of virtual therapy to enhance therapeutic connections by creating a familiar, safe space where clients feel more authentic and open. Online therapy allows clients to access support from the comfort of their own environment, reducing stress and enhancing emotional processing. Astrid also emphasizes the flexibility and time-saving benefits of virtual sessions, which are particularly valuable for those with busy schedules.

Her expertise includes trauma-informed care, cognitive reframing, and habit formation, and she is trained as a certified breath specialist, meditation teacher, and 700-hour yoga therapist, incorporating Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine into her practice. Astrid stays up-to-date with the latest research in Neuroscience and Behavioral Psychology, ensuring her clients receive the most effective strategies to build mental resilience and well-being.
